Punta Suarez, Espanola

Punta Suarez was overwhelming. We were there to see waved albatross but there was so much more….

Apparently after snacking on the eggs some lizards move into the nests.
The first waved albatross we saw was sitting on a nest, but the next pair was doing their mating dance. They mate for life and have an intricate dance that they use to identify their partners.

The sea lions were NOT dancing, but fighting over the best rocks on the beach. After the black one lost he went storming down the beach, roaring at everyone else he passed.

A galapagos hawk! It was sitting at the end of the island for the entire time we were at this bay taking photos, and just as we were walking away it flew by.
