A day late, but in honor of Earth Day, a few of my favorite forests, on the other side of the world and close to home.
Bamboo Forest, China
The teepee my aunt Sandi married her now wife, BJ, in. In her backyard forest, Manchester, VT

I’d like to note that this photograph was taken in 2010, long before any scenes from any iconic, violent HBO shows were filmed here.

Forest of flowers in the suburbs, Greenwich, CT
While not my favorite forest, this massive (hundreds of acres) burned out forest on the Washington section of the PCT was a stunning and somber visual. The fire was started by a careless logger in the late 80’s, and the area has only just begun to recover and see new growth. I couldn’t help but think about the Lorax.
In a winter with very little snow, I appreciate more the fall snows we saw in Vermont.
A forest of clubmoss on the Vermont Long Trail
The snow wasn’t good for skiing, but it was great for hiking. Long Trail, VT.
The pictures are absolutely beautiful as well as the comments.
